Systems Engineer

RemoteSudoSecurity

Build and harden the Linux infrastructure behind Elevated hosting and our own services, and help develop Hardline.

SudoSecurity runs a security and developer community: the blog, Forums and Learn, the free security tools, Hardline (our open-source Rust server hardening CLI) and Elevated hardened hosting. Everything we ship is held to three rules: security-minded, performance-driven and modern in design.

What you'll do

  • Run, automate and harden the Linux servers, containers and networks behind Elevated and SudoSecurity.
  • Improve monitoring, backups and incident response so problems are caught before customers notice.
  • Help design and test Hardline's controls against CIS and STIG baselines across distributions.
  • Tune performance across nginx, databases and game-server workloads.

What we're looking for

  • Deep Linux experience (Debian/Ubuntu and RHEL-family) and solid networking fundamentals.
  • Experience hardening systems: SSH, firewalls, TLS, patching and least privilege.
  • Comfort with Docker, nginx, shell scripting and infrastructure as code.
  • Bonus: Rust, game-server hosting (Pterodactyl/Pelican) or security certifications.
